Sand Straw Stainless Steel Straws Are the Future

Are stainless steel straws the future of reusable straws? As the world looks for more ways to minimize humanity's impact on the climate, paper straws have come into vogue as a drinking instrument. The logic is obvious: paper is more sustainable than plastic, and causes far less damage to the environment as it degrades. But there's a problem with that line of thinking: paper straws are not close to being worth the trouble.

Keeping plastics out of the ocean is a cause that everyone should get behind, but straws should not be the focus of this movement. There are far worse sources of water pollution - namely, single-use food and beverage containers and abandoned fishing gear, the latter of which makes up at least 46 percent of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Getting rid of plastic straws won't make much of a dent.

And on a basic level, paper straws make the act of drinking liquid from a container far more frustrating than it has to be. If the taste of paper was so enticing, it would have been utilized as an artificial flavor by some enterprising food company. That hasn't happened, because paper does not taste good. Saving the environment is great, but there are better ways to go about it than making everyone drink through a pasty filter than falls apart after one sip. If straws are going to stick around, then we need a better alternative.

That better alternative is the stainless steel straw. They provide the environmental benefits of a paper straw without the mushy aftertaste. Since they're made of a higher grade material, these straws can be used for a long time and greatly lower the environmental footprint of the straw's user. Each person who uses a stainless steel straw keeps up to 600 plastic straws per year from being dumped in a landfill. Just imagine the impact we could all make if these straws became the norm?

They're also easier to clean than the alternatives. Each straw set comes with deep cleaning brushes, as well as being FDA-approved so there's no need to worry about toxins infecting your drinks. Best of all,

These straws help the environment, don't dilute the taste of your beverage, and can be reused for years. There aren't many reasons not to get some for yourself. If you have any questions that weren't answered here, feel free to get in touch through our contact page.
